Querweg Schwarzwald-Kaiserstuhl-Rhein, Donaueschingen - Breisach, 109 km, 5 days

For a change, this is a walk that stays in the valleys of the Black Forest. Most paths run high in the hills, not this one. The path runs east-west, starting in Donaueschingen. Hence it crosses fields and forests. Once in the Black Forest, the path follows the course of several rivers: the Breg, then the Gutach, and then the Elz. North from Freiburg our path leaves the mountains, but shorlty before it reaches the Rhine at Breisach, it climbs again into the hills, to obtain a good view over the river in the west and the mountains to the east.
